In the wake of the flooding and landslides that happened in KwaZulu-Natal in April and May 2022, 448 people have been left dead and greater than forty 000 displaced, with injury to roads, schools, water infrastructure and companies.
On 18 April, President Cyril Ramaphosa declared a nationwide state of catastrophe.
