5 Pattani males arrested for allegedly posing as cops to extort locals

5 men who were posing as law enforcement officials in southern Thailand’s Pattani province had been arrested yesterday. The suspects allegedly extorted drug-taking residents or youngsters out of money or property.
Outlawed were alerted that males had been portraying themselves as members of the Yaring police at a village in the Laem Pho Subdistrict. Expert says the lads dressed as police officers and had “armours” with police on the chest. The men allegedly chose native youngsters or individuals who took narcotics as their extortion victims. The fake police would ask residents if they may inspect their belongings and sometimes extort them for both cash or property. Police have since arrested the 5 males.
